Bridal show tips – What to know before you go

Bridal shows offer plenty of great wedding ideas and can even help you plan your whole wedding. Shows can be large and it can be time consuming and tiring to spend hours navigating the show. Here are the top tips for how to maximize your time at the bridal show and come away with the best information.

Don’t worry about winning everything. You can spend hours filling out entry forms at booth after booth. Keep in mind that these vendors want your personal information so they can send you marketing materials. Only sign up for those that you would like further information from.

Review the program before you attend. Highlight any specific presentations that interest you and be sure to be there in plenty of time to get a seat. Bring a notebook and pen along with you so you can take notes as you listen.

Use the map if one is provided. Bring along a neon marker and place checkmarks on booths that you would like to return to. It will save you precious steps later on when you’re trying to find the place you saw two hours ago.

Make a list of what you need information on before you go. For example, if you’re interested in learning more about wedding cakes, place your focus on that area. If you have time left over you can browse other information that interests you.

Don’t get carried away. It’s very easy to get swept off your feet at these types of events. Remember that you’ve got plenty of time to make decisions. Give yourself time (away from the event) to review the information and make an educated decision.

Special show pricing is often provided to those in attendance. Don’t let this force you into making a decision you’re not ready for. If you’re not totally sure of something take some time to review the information before you sign on the dotted line.

Visit two bridal shows before your wedding if you have the time. This allows you to gather information on the first visit. On your second trip to a show you will be prepared to make decisions. That way you can still take advantage of any special deals that are offered.
