Get Fit and Look Great in Your Wedding Gown

Need to lose a few inches before the big day? Here are some tips to help you achieve your weight loss goal.

Most brides plan their weddings for at least one year. That gives you plenty of time to get in shape if you are not happy with your current physique. Whether you choose to join a weight loss clinic, a fitness centre or go it on your own, the tips below can help you get in shape in time for your big day.

Set Reasonable Goals

Chances are that you will not lose 100 pounds in time for your wedding. The good news is that even a much more moderate weight loss of 10 or so pounds can have a big impact on the way that you look on your big day.
If you do have a considerable amount of weight to lose, consider researching some weight loss clinics. The professionals there can help you set goals that will be attainable by your big day.

Fitness centres provide you with a place where you can focus on working out with no distraction. Just an hour a day can have a huge impact on your weight loss and fitness level.

Slow and Steady

Avoid fasting or crash diets. Also, diets that call for you to maintain a very low caloric intake should be avoided. Instead, lose weight at a pace of 1 to 2 pounds per week.

Experts say that weight lost at this rate is much more likely to stay off than weight lost much more quickly.  Professionals at most weight loss clinics will set goals that are in line with that slower weight loss pace.

Don’t Procrastinate

Yes, the wedding is a year away, but the months are going to fly by. If you have a fitness goal that you want to reach by your wedding, get started TODAY. Procrastinating greatly reduces your chances of meeting your goals.

Find a Stress Reliever

Some brides-to-be have every intention of losing weight before their wedding, but end up gaining instead. Why? For many it is the stress of planning the wedding. Some turn to food as a stress reliever. Instead, find something else to act as a stress reliever. This could be treating yourself to a weekly massage or, better yet, joining a fitness centre or going for an extra run or a brisk walk each day.

Get a Fitness Buddy

One of the best bits of advice for someone who is trying to lose weight for their wedding is to get a fitness buddy. You and your fitness buddy will be accountable to each other and will meet at a fitness centre or local park each day for a workout.

You will be much less likely to skip a workout if you have to meet someone there.

All brides want to look beautiful in their wedding gown. Getting fit is a matter of making a commitment to yourself and then sticking it to it. Start today and you will be that much closer to your goal when your wedding day arrives.
