When you’re having a fall wedding you’ll want to find décor ideas that fit with the season.

Choosing the best fall wedding décor

Getting married in autumn offers a perfect backdrop for your wedding. The clean, crisp air and the beautiful colours help to make this a special time of year. When you’re having a fall wedding you’ll want to find décor ideas that fit with the season. Here are some of the best fall wedding décor ideas.

• Bring the outdoors indoors. Create natural displays using materials from outdoors. Think about using dried cattails, branches, and leaves as tablescapes.

• Use the plenty of the season. Pumpkins, gourds, and squash are colourful and interesting. They give your room a beautiful setting that screams “fall”.

• Add a warm glow to the room with candles. Dim the lights slightly so that the candles will provide a wonderful ambiance.

• Make a cozy area by simulating a harvest. Set up one area with some cornstalks, pumpkins, and hay, along with a large grouping of candles. This makes a rustic scene that gives the room the ambiance of autumn.

• Add horns of plenty displays to tables throughout the reception venue. Use wicker horns filled with fruits of the season and add some interest with leaves and berries.

• Bring in several electric fireplaces to make the room seem more fall-like. Use the top mantle to display some pumpkins.

• Add some fall floral bouquets to each table. Use flowers that are most often thought of as fall flowers. Add dried flowers if you prefer. Include cattails to the mix for a more authentic look.

• Choose foods that are typically served in the fall. Consider squash or pumpkin soup served in actual pumpkins, roast meat such as beef, and potato casseroles or scalloped potatoes.

• Use candles on the sweet table, cake table, and gift table to make a nice radiance. Check with the venue to make sure that candles are allowed.

• Create inexpensive centerpieces for the tables by filling clear glass cylinders with round natural balls made of twine in different earth tones. By putting them in clear containers they don’t look overly heavy.

• Use ribbons and bows in fall colours of yellow, brown, and orange to decorate the aisles of the church.

• Use coloured live flowers that are popular at this time of the year to decorate at the church and reception hall.
